Two people are hanging from a cliff. Make me choose between them.

“Well, when you’re around me, the chances are pretty high, actually,” Aidan pointed out with a light laugh. His smile fell just a little when he caught Phineas staring at him out of the corner of his eye. Well damn, that definitely wasn’t helping his efforts to regulate his circulation. At the older man’s next question, he nodded. “Yeah, I figured we could just share.” Aidan was about to continue on to explain that it wouldn’t be much good if they were in separate rooms, but Phineas’s next remarks left him dumbfounded and heavily flushed again. “I-I, uh…I, I suppose we’ll, um… Y-You can borrow mine, at, uh, at some point.” His voice was slightly higher than usual, and it cracked a little at the end; he stared firmly ahead at the road, biting the inside of his lower lip as he swallowed hard.
He chuckled at his reaction, taking the chance to rest his hand on Aidan’s knee. He knew he shouldn’t bother someone while they were driving but damn this was a load of fun. “I think I would prefer it if we just didn’t wear anything… It would make things a lot easier, wouldn’t it?”, he then moved his hand away from his knee, hoping he’d be alright to drive now. He would’ve offered to help him with his “circulation” problem but too many driving accidents happened cause of stupid things like that. He groaned internally. He didn’t want to wait. Sooner than later, however, they arrived at the Lockwood headquarters with some time to spare. The sky was brightening.
Aidan’s grip tightened on the steering wheel as soon as Phineas’s hand touched his knee, still managing to stare firmly at the road, though he swallowed again. Only when the hand left could he muster a response, in the form of an eloquent “U-Uh…” Clearing his throat, he tried again. “Yeah, uh…I, I guess it would, yeah.”
When they finally pulled up in front of the mansion, Aidan immediately returned to “work mode” as he shut off the engine and got out of the car. Circling around to open Phineas’s door as well, he helped the older man out of the car and towards the front door. He knew he didn’t need to mother so much, but dammit if he wasn’t concerned for Steel’s safety, even more so now than before.
He entered the front hall first, making sure to say “Come in” before he pulled Phineas past the threshold and shutting the door behind them.
Clambering across the console back into the driver’s seat, he pulled his shirt back on, shifting a tad uncomfortably; his hormones weren’t taking kindly to the interruption. Seeing that the sky was somewhat more blue than black now, he started the car and buckled up before pulling back onto the road. After a few minutes of silence filled only with road noise, the older man spoke. “Nah,” Aidan replied with a brief shake of his head. “He just told me that if I’m dead in a ditch he’ll drag my ass outta hell so he can punch me in the face.” The redhead laughed aloud. “Nothing out of the ordinary; don’t worry about it, it’s not your fault. Besides, it’s more important to keep you safe while you get adjusted; this’s a helluva lot to go through in one night.”
He laughed with Aidan when he told him what the text said before sighing. When he finished talking he nodded before looking back out of the window. “Of all things to happen, I become a vampire. What’re the chances of that happening?”, he watched the other man out of the corner of his eye, simply admiring him and silently cursing his colleague for interrupting the two of them. There was a feeling in the back of his head. It felt like the start of a headache. He bit his lip, not wanting something to be bothering him again. “So what’re the sleeping arrangements? Are we sharing a bed?”, he asked while raising an eyebrow, trying to get his mind away from the oncoming pain. “I should probably tell you that I haven’t brought pajamas… such a pity” he spoke with a widening smirk as his voice grew smoother with the sarcasm. “Just what are we to do?”

He swallowed hard, indecisiveness plaguing his mind as well. If they didn’t start back to Lockwood soon, Eliott would definitely rouse the whole Hall and pester him with chiding texts until the moment he walked in the door. Aidan didn’t think his phone bill could handle another bout of that. The redhead got sidetracked, however, when Steel kissed him again. He let slip a soft gasp when the other’s hand reached his groin, biting his lower lip as he tried to decide what to do. Letting Phineas continue was a very tempting option, but his concern for the older man’s safety made a strong counterargument. But shit, that smile…
Just then, his phone buzzed. Unlocking it with a swipe of his thumb, Aidan read the short message—and clenched his hand around his phone, pressing it to his forehead with a frustrated noise somewhere between a groan and a growl.
Dropping the device into a cupholder on the middle console, he explained with a frown, almost a pout, on his face: “Sorry; we gotta head back. My colleague’s threatening to send out a search party, and we should get you safely inside before the sun comes up.” Retrieving his shirt, Aidan pressed a firm kiss to Steel’s cheek and added, “We’ll pick up where we left off as soon as we’re back in my room, okay? Promise.”He made a small groan of disappointment before moving back into his seat. “I figured we should’ve been getting back anyway… But this would’ve been fun..”, he pouted before getting himself to inhale and clear his mind. His pants were a little too tight at the moment. He hoped that maybe attempting to calm himself would get things to settle. His heart laced with fear as he took a look at the sky. It was starting to get lighter out, not by very much but just enough for him to see the slight change in shades of blue. Relief eased his fear once the car started moving. “Is your colleague upset with you?”, he asked after a few minutes. “I’m really sorry for holding you back..”

Aidan let slip another soft hum against Steel’s mouth; pressed this close, he could feel the subtle shift behind the other’s lips and knew that his incisors had retreated to a normal length. It made the redhead smile a bit—for the moment, at least, things were taken care of.When Phineas’s fingers found the waistline of his leather pants—which were getting just a tad uncomfortable—Aidan pulled back with a quiet gasp, panting lightly as he met Steel’s prolonged gaze. Only when it was broken did the redhead realize he’d almost fallen into an enraptured daze, and blinked rapidly to regain some mental clarity.
His back arching again when the elder lifted his shirt, he had to lean back a little further so Phineas wouldn’t have to bend awkwardly, one hand braced on the dashboard. When the other spoke, Aidan looked down at him, expression caught between confusion and disbelief; he wasn’t sure, but was Steel saying…what he thought he was saying? There was no guarantee at all, and he was probably assuming too much…but… The mere idea was enough to make him flush bright red, and he stammered out an eloquent “uh” in response. He smirked at how Aidan was blushing. It seemed he wasn’t too put off by what he had in mind. “Please?”, he asked softly before placing more kisses up his abdominal. His fingers played with the button of his pants, undoing it before he leaned back up, pulling off the other’s shirt with him while moving in to kiss him again. His other hand traveled down to cup him between his legs and unzip his pants. “I promise I won’t bite”, he chuckled before trailing kisses down to his collar bone. He hoped this wouldn’t take very long though. They had to be heading back soon. But… Not when Aidan looked so tempting… Of course, the two could always continue where they would leave off back at Lockwood. He groaned internally at his indecisiveness before moving back downward, sending the other a mischievous smile.

Promise.”
Aidan wavered; they should really get back to Lockwood. At the very least, Eliott would be awake and pacing, waiting for them to return—which probably meant that Cedric was up too. Maybe he’d even roused the rest of the Hall, and they were all wondering where he was and if he was all right. Besides, it would take them at least fifteen minutes to get back, and he wanted Phineas to be shut safely inside somewhere before sunrise. But the other’s kisses were deliciously persuasive, and Aidan found himself reciprocating eagerly, arching forward into Phineas’s touch. He let slip a soft gasp as Steel’s hand moved upward, muscles reflexively flinching each time the other’s fingers found a scar. And that breathless voice…maybe the team could wait, just for a little while.
“Fine,” Aidan conceded in a murmur. “But only a few minutes.”He bit his lip from excitement, forgetting that he had fangs for a moment. One of his teeth pierced his skin, causing a trickle of blood to move down to his chin. He swiped his tongue along the wound, the taste causing a small shiver to course through him. He continued kissing Aidan again before moving his hands back down his chest. He then felt his teeth recede back into his gums, to his relief. He didn’t need anymore blood at that moment. He wondered if he should give some of his back to Aidan, but he had no idea how that would effect him. Does he need to be almost completely drained in order to be turned? He remembered reading in a few Anne Rice novels that a vampire and a human host were able to exchange blood without the human necessarily turning into a vampire himself. He’d have to ask later. He didn’t want that experience to be limited to only himself. Instead he wanted to make things a little.. Better… His fingers traced down the contours of his muscles to the waist line of his pants. His heart thudded in his chest. Hell he couldn’t tell if he was hearing his own or if he was hearing his lover’s. He looked at Aidan, feeling almost entranced by his eyes; each individual fleck of color in his irises was breath taking. He then tore his gaze away to start kissing down his neck, taking small nibbles before lifting his shirt a bit to kiss down his abdomen. “Let me make it up to you..”, he spoke while looking up at him. His blood was certainly pounding now.

…Well that was odd, at least to him. It didn’t seem she experienced quite the level of discomfort that he did, but she at least understood—or attempted to understand—a little of what he was going through.Eliott answered in a quiet, almost meek voice as his hands started idly fidgeting again, “Yeah. I just…crowds, they, um… They scare me.” He knew exactly what the term was—agoraphobia—but it was a matter of putting it into words, which he couldn’t quite manage at the moment.
Flipping her notebook closed, she turned her body to face him some more. “Least you’re tryin’ to conquer your fear. I mean, it’s a busy day out and you haven’t gone off runnin’ yet, so that’s somethin’.” She said, her smiling softening some.
Mirroring her smile nervously, he shook his head a bit. “I-It’s nothing all that grand or brave, actually. In my job, I, uh, I have to work with people, so I need to get used to a lot of people being in my personal space. It’s not like I want to; I just have to.”
Oh boy, he’d really blathered on, hadn’t he? Eliott hoped he wouldn’t end up scaring her off, if he hadn’t already.
